Before and Afters

This is the stairway in the entry.

This is what I call the den. My brother calls it the living room. This is the shelving unit that came from an old store in my hometown.

This is the dining room. Note the built in hutch and the crayon art.

This is the view from the dining room into the formal living room.

This is the downstairs bathroom.

This is the breakfast room area. It's not the best picture, but it's the only one I had of the AMAZING windows.

This is my kitchen. My mom is jealous. Like, super jealous. Just wait until the new appliances come.

This is my pantry. I have plans for this sucker.

This is half of my laundry room. Of all the wood in this house, I am the least fond of these cabinets, so they are probably going to get painted (this is where I apologize to my dearly departed grandpa, the carpenter, who would shudder at the thought of painting wood. Grandpa, I promise this isn't high quality wood. I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry.)

For some reason, I don't have a picture of the whole master bedroom, so I have to give you two separate ones. So here is the view from the back staircase.

I actually decided that I didn't want this to be my room, so my brother decided to make this into a sort of exercise room for the time being. You guys are going to crap your pants when you see the closet I decided I didn't need.

This is the closet I decided I didn't need. For the record, I hope you didn't actually crap your pants.

Same story with the bathroom as the master bedroom. I guess I couldn't get everything into one shot. So here is the vanity.

Nice toilet. Not the most exciting picture, I guess.

This is the yellow bedroom. Every time I go into it I feel like it is burning my retinas, so it's going to get a makeover (hopefully soon) so I can walk into the room with my eyes open.

This is my brother's room. It's juuuuust big enough for his king sized bed.

This is brother's closet. As you can see, shelves galore. Perfect for his mass of t-shirts.

This is my room, since I can't be bothered with the master and all it's stupid closet space. It's a pretty spacious room. It's going to get a coat of paint like the others. Maybe a grayish color. I never thought I'd do too much with neutrals, but I don't really need an explosion of color to get my point across, especially with a hefty collection of colorful quilts to do the talking for me.

Glorious windows. Another reason I love this bedroom.

This is a photo of the barn/studio out back. It used to be a garage, but the art teacher who lived here made it into a studio, thinking he would someday teach classes in here. Unfortunately he passed away before his dream came to fruition. I'll have to find a use for it that it deserves. I doubt I'll be able to teach art classes, but surely something will come to me...right?

This is my garage. It's huge, but nothing fancy. We'll see what we can do with it, eh?
